Bio

Born in 1979, Layla "Amazing" McCarter grew up in Alameda, California. Currently, she trains in Mayweather Gym, Las Vegas. She is fighting in the welterweight class as a boxer/puncher. Layla has trained in martial arts since she was 8 years old. She's done kickboxing as well. Her amateur boxing record was 11-1. In 1998, she turned pro at 19 years old. In 2000, she moved to Vegas, she says, "With just 6 fights and a dream to be the best!"

Layla won her first world title (featherweight) at 21 years old in October 2000. She explains, "I haven't lost a fight since February 2007, over 17 years ago. I'm motivated to keep winning and to continue my legacy with Team Combat Leaugue and with my team, Las Vegas Hustle. I will consider retirement in the next few years."

Some of her notable achievements include over 63 professional fights including 19 world title bouts; Won 8 world titles in 5 weight classes (126-135-140-147-154); First BKB female Champion; Honored by the World Boxing Hall of Fame, March 2008; Awarded by Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame “Female fighter of the Year” in multiple years; Inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame in 2016; Slated for induction to the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame 2024 class in August 2024.
