BOSTON, Apr 5, 2024 — The much-anticipated lineup for Boston’s inaugural professional boxing squad, the Boston Butchers, was revealed on Thursday at Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston. This unveiling marks a significant milestone for the city’s sports landscape as the Butchers prepare to enter the highly competitive realm of the Team Combat League (TCL), a premier professional boxing league featuring 12 teams from around the nation.

Comprising 24 talented male and female boxers hailing from the New England region, the Boston Butchers promise to bring an electrifying blend of skill, determination, and hometown pride to the TCL ring. Assistant General Manager Pat Sullivan expressed excitement about the team’s composition, emphasizing the camaraderie and mutual support among the boxers during training sessions at Nonantum Boxing Gym in Newton.

Among the notable names on the roster are world-ranked heavyweight Cassius Chaney and four-time national champion Amelia Moore, showcasing the depth of talent within the team. Sullivan highlighted the significance of the Butchers’ strong local ties, with all team members rooted in the Boston community, from their upbringing to their training regimen.
